I was fortunate enough as a child to be able to walk through bluebell woods just next to my home. I have never forgotten the sight and scent of those impossibly blue flowers stretching out beneath the lime green leaves of the spring beeches and those days started a love affair with flowers of all kinds that has never waned. Its the reason my first image below is of bluebells. Since then there have been many moments when flowers have given me moments of intense emotion. It may be a traditional hay meadow with all its miraculous and so scarce wildflowers, or the David Austin Roses stand at Chelsea Flower Show, the first snowdrop that appears in the garden; flowers are so beautiful, and so precious to our lives. I have tried to celebrate them below. Please click on any image for a full view.
